Rina Chotai departs Dunelm retail tech role for Global

Rina Chotai has left Dunelm, where she held the position of Head of In-store Tech, and taken on the role of Head of Delivery at media and entertainment group Global.

The latter includes Global Radio, which is the UK’s biggest commercial radio company and home to the country’s three biggest commercial radio brands Capital, Heart and Classic FM.

“After six and a half years (albeit a break in between), my amazing journey at Dunelm has ended,” she said in a LinkedIn post.

“I will be starting my exciting new role as Head of Delivery for Global where I will be following my passion in music in the world of tech delivery for some of the biggest and most loved radio brands and a company that is also leading in outdoor media. Looking forward to meeting the Global team!”

Virtual shopping

Dunelm has been testing out virtual shopping appointments during the coronavirus outbreak.

Powered by JRNI, formerly BookingBug, its service kicked off via its Redditch and Erdington stores and is available to customers across the UK. The aim is to make it easy for customers to browse in-store from their homes via a video call with a staff member.

People can make an appointment and tell Dunelm about their style and items they’re interested in. Dunelm will then send them a video link and during the session will pick out options and discuss ideas.

After the appointment, shoppers will receive a list of items and links. They can follow these links to order online from local stores with Click and Collect.
