$610 billion and $566 billionThe New York Times is reporting that consumers spent $610 billion at Amazon from June 2020 to June 2021, based on estimates from financial research firm FactSet. In that same time frame, shoppers splashed out $566 billion at Walmart.

13,483 UK Amazon sellers now operate in the UK, making almost £2.5 billion a month in sales or 5.5% of the entire UK retail (including fuel) sector’s turnover in June, according to Thrasio.

46% of global retail marketers are considering cancelling their in-store Black Friday 2021 sales due to ongoing uncertainties around Covid-19, according to research from Emarsys.

250 and 1,500The Post Office has announced a Click and Collect partnership with parcel delivery firm DPD.

It previously only had an agreement with Royal Mail Group for parcel collections directly at its branches, but has now opened up its network to external carriers for the first time in its 360 year history.

The service will initially be available at around 250 Post Offices this month before rolling out to approximately 1,500 branches across the UK ahead of the peak Christmas period.

$35 millionBrowzwear, a provider of 3D digital solutions for the fashion industry, has closed a $35 million funding round involving Radian Capital.  This is the first institutional financing received by Browzwear.

The Singapore headquartered venture, which was founded in 2012, will use the cash to accelerate product development and market expansion.

$500 million…Latin American e-commerce platform, Nuvemshop, has raised a $500 million Series E round of funding.

This was co-led by Insight Partners and Tiger Global Management, with participation from Alkeon and Owl Rock. 

2 million…Online electricals retailer AO has recycled over two million fridges at its recycling plant in Telford.

5.5%…Bitcoin rewards startup Lolli has announced a tie up with online fashion retailer Shopbop.

It’s now possible to earn up to 5.5% Bitcoin back when shopping on ShopBop with Lolli.

60…Omnichannel trade retailer, Screwfix, is launching a service called Screwfix Sprint that will deliver orders direct to site, within 60 minutes.
