The River Café enlists Gophr as it expands at home offer

London restaurant, The River Café, has announced a partnership with same-day courier Gophr.

This comes as it expands its delivery service, following a trial with Gophr that kicked off in November and peaked at 180 orders delivered across three days in the week before Christmas.

Gophr will deliver food to customers across the capital. People can order from 2pm to 7pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

The service covers The River Café’s Italian menu, as well as set meal boxes, alcohol and fresh ingredients.

Demand for home delivery from The River Café rose during Covid lockdowns, and it remains strong.

Imogen McKay, Shop Operations Manager, says: “Working with Gophr over the Christmas period was a great success.”

“We found Gophr’s platform easy to use, its couriers friendly and the service levels a perfect match for our brand's fine dining ethos.”

“There was simply no room for compromise and they did a great job. We’re pleased to be continuing this relationship and look forward to working with Gophr to bring The River Café experience direct to more customers”.

Seb Robert, Gophr CEO, comments: “With our cutting-edge tech, logistics and service, Gophr is well positioned to meet its customers' needs.”

“Delivery of perishable goods, be it fresh or cooked food, flowers or other items,  requires high levels of care and logistics, to ensure they arrive to the customer on time and in the right condition. Our platform connects our couriers with the restaurant, to provide a seamless service to River Café customers.”

He concludes: “The River Cafe is an iconic restaurant that played a pioneering role in bringing authentic Italian cuisine to the UK when it launched back in 1987. “

“We’re really pleased to be playing a small part in its future by providing diners with their favourite items, delivered directly to their door.”
