Trax names former Google AI leader, Barak Turovsky, as CPO

Trax, a provider of computer vision solutions and analytics for retailers, has appointed Barak Turovsky as its Chief Product Officer.

Turovsky is a former Google exec where his focus was bringing the power of artificial intelligence to Google Search, Ads & Commerce, Google Translate, Cloud and other products.

Prior to that, he served as Head of Product for Google’s mobile commerce team where he spearheaded and launched Google Pay (formerly Google Wallet).

Before joining Google in 2011, he was Director of Product for Microsoft’s Mobile Advertising, and Head of Mobile Commerce at PayPal.

“Barak brings an invaluable set of skills and experiences to Trax,” says CEO, Justin Behar.

“His deep understanding of AI and first-hand knowledge of how to scale products from ideation to the hands of billions of users will be instrumental to our growth as he takes his place at the helm of what is so intrinsic to Trax’s future: our robust product and technological assets.”

“I am eager to kick off my tenure with Trax, especially at such a pivotal moment for the retail industry,” says Turovsky.

“AI is revolutionising many areas of our lives, and retail is going through enormous disruption as physical, online and mobile experiences are blending at an incredible pace. Leveraging AI to help retailers and brands create a seamless real-time experience for shoppers is a very exciting challenge.”

“I am looking forward to working on similar, massive scale problems to benefit billions of people, as I did at Google.”
