Zoltan Patai quits foodpanda Hungary to launch own venture

Zoltan Patai has departed Delivery Hero owned quick commerce firm foodpanda Hungary where he served as Managing Director.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: “After a bit more than three amazing years, it is time for me to move on to the next challenge.”

“I’ve decided to take a big turn in my career in order to pursue my dreams: I'm leaving to become an entrepreneur and launch my own venture.”

He added: “I’m incredible proud of what foodpanda has achieved in the last three years.”

“We expanded our team from 100 to 400, increased our revenues tenfold, migrated to a completely new tech platform, successfully rebranded from NetPincér to foodpanda and launched panda market dark stores in 10 cities.”

Istvan Juhasz, currently COO, will take over the MD role at foodpanda Hungary.

“I have known István for years and have been working together at foodpanda for more than 1.5 years, thus I'm sure he will continue building what we started - but with a new source of energy,” Patai commented.

He concluded: “I’m really looking forward to building an own company - it's a challenging but hopefully rewarding experience.”

“I cannot share much detail yet, except that we have a world class founding team and an amazing investor behind us. More news to follow later on!”
