Zapp launches London-based ultra-fast delivery Period Store
On-demand delivery big hitter Zapp has announced a new Period Store, selling the likes of organic tampons and pads, menstrual cups and liners, along with treats like a hot water bottle, magnesium products and chocolate to boost oxytocin and relieve menstrual strain.
This will launch in London on Saturday for National Period Hygiene Day.
For each of the hot water bottles sold, Zapp will donate £2 to Period Poverty UK, a charity working towards the goal of eliminating period poverty in Britain’s most deprived communities by 2025.
Silje Renberg Kvaavik, Zapp Catalogue Manager, comments: “We’re so happy to be able to extend our ‘need it now’ products to include period products.”
“We hope these will not only be Zapped by people needing them, and fast, but also by friends and family to someone suffering with period pains.”
Zapp has scrapped its ‘intimate care’ label, and joins the likes of Boots and Asda who have moved away from categories like ‘feminine hygiene’ to opt for words that describe the products and make headway in removing the stigma around menstrual cycles.
The former delivers to most of London, within minutes.
Earlier this year, it raised $200 million in Series B funding.
Investors included Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, Lightspeed, 468 Capital, BroadLight Capital, Atomico, Burda, and Vorwerk Ventures.
