Marks and Spencer produces Platinum Jubilee Live Shopping episode
According to the Marks and Spencer Family Matters Index, over 40% of Brits intend to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee this weekend.
This has lead the retailer to film a special a Live Shopping episode to showcase Jubilee products on offer at M&S, including Union Jack bunting and corgi cushions.

The M&S Macclesfield store teams’s TikTok recently hit 13.8k followers, with their latest video engaging 2.6 million people and receiving 360,000 likes plus 13,000 comments.
Ella Barnard, Support Team Manager at Marks and Spencer, said in a LinkedIn post: “Social media has allowed stores to interact personally with their audience to create a following and also a fan base. The power it holds to reach so far amazes me #power!”
She added: “Also watching #teammandsmacclesfield enjoying themselves whilst upselling our amazing products is truly mesmerising.”
Romford rocks
Last year, Romford M&S staff released a Christmas TikTok track.
This Is Not Just A Christmas Song was an original track written by team support manager Jack Brooker.
The Romford employees became viral sensations in October with their Thriller video, followed by their Backstreet Boys rendition.
It all began with a store Facebook account, set up during the first Covid-19 lockdown to communicate with customers.
“I started posting videos and found people interacted with them because they were more personal to the store,” says M&S team manager Sarah Hutcherson, who comes up with many of the concepts and films all the videos.
“We did East 17’s Stay Another Day last Christmas and grasped the boyband idea.”
At the same time, TikTok’s popularity boomed and Hutcherson created the M&S Romford TikTok to also post the videos there.
Steve Hester, sales assistant and operations, says: “With the Covid situation, people needed cheering up and we thought, let’s create some funny videos to put smiles on their faces. Simon Bell, (fire, health and safety officer and store ops) and I did a dance to Why Did It Have To Be Me? from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and that got us noticed.”
“We got more involved, eventually joining the other boys and it took off. We bounce ideas off each other – when we were asked to promote prosecco in the summer, I suggested we do something to Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.”
“We tried to recreate as much of the video as possible. One of the girls was off camera pushing us on our chairs. It’s great fun, we’re always challenging ourselves and thinking, ‘What else can we do?’”
