Online delivery experience startup Carryr shuts up shop
Carryr, pitched as a next-generation delivery experience for e-commerce brands, is no more.
Chris Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO, Carryr, made the announcement in a LinkedIn post.
“Over the past few years, I have been through such an incredible journey of entrepreneurship developing Carry with some incredible people,” he said.
“With every day gone by, whether it be full of highs or lows (and believe me, there’s been plenty of each), my passion has only increased about solving the problems associated with the delivery experience.”
Jordan continued: “When founding Carryr, there’s always been a rush that we may not work out.”
“It’s just the nature of startups, especially when paired with an exceptionally hard business model that’s been attempted at and iterated from current and previous companions in the market.”
“In most cases we’ve taken the opportunity to pivot and adapt, but unfortunately in this case my co-founder Mike Zhang and I had to make some heart wrenching decisions to bring it top a close.”
He signed off with: “I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that’s given me their time and acceptance, especially the ones recently I’ve approached for advice on this decision.””
“I’ve always considered myself as a startup and tech outsider, but I now firmly believe this is where I belong. This is only the beginning.”
Startup Stories
In 2020, Jordan took part in RTIH’s Startup Stories section.
“We’re on a mission to supercharge the end-to-end delivery experience for fashion retailers and their customers,” he told us.
“We partner up with the most exciting fashion retailers to give their customers a new, flexible delivery experience - the ability to consolidate and schedule the delivery of every Carryr powered order from any of our supporting retailers (can even be delivered in as little as an hour after placing the order).”
He added: “Carryr is not only a flexible delivery option upon checkout, but an extremely powerful omnichannel ecosystem built around a compelling last mile delivery and returns experience, which includes solutions that help retailers fulfil e-commerce orders from stores and even use our delivery option as a customer acquisition tool.”
“Overall, this helps retailers increase cart conversion rates and, most importantly, increase customer satisfaction.”
“Before Carryr, the delivery experience with fashion retailers has been somewhat fragmented and consumers are now looking for brands that really understand and compliment their fast paced lifestyle, we’re helping retailers do just that.”
