American Freight taps augmented reality technology as it expands into Utah with four new stores

American Freight, a US-based retailer of furniture, mattresses and appliances, is expanding into Utah for the first time with the opening of four new stores in the Salt Lake City metro area.

Visitors will be able to visualise how furniture looks in their homes before purchasing using AR technology on the company’s website.

Following the first opening in Ogden, American Freight will open three additional locations in Layton, Orem and Logan.

“Identifying locations that are convenient for our customers and selectively locating stores in those markets is key to our nationwide expansion strategy,” says Peter Corsa, CEO at the Home Segment of FRG Inc., the parent company of American Freight.

“We’re thrilled to bring our wide selection, great value and excellent service to Utahns for the first time.”

“We’re excited to bring our extensive selection of furniture, mattresses and appliances from trusted name brands to shoppers in northern Utah,” says Brian Benge, Territory Vice President, American Freight.

“Our in-store experience is designed to make shopping for high quality home furnishings affordable and convenient and we look forward to becoming a key part of the local community in Ogden as well as in Layton, Orem and Logan over the coming months.”

Customers who purchase appliances can also opt to have the American Freight team of trained installers deliver, hook up and test their new appliance, as well as show them how to use it before hauling away their old item.
