Worldpay from FIS partners with Pennies to help UK merchants raise £10 million for good causes
Worldpay from FIS has enabled UK merchants to raise £10 million for charities through its integration at the PoS with digital charity box Pennies.
The pair have been collaborating since 2011, providing a way for consumers to donate to charity when making a purchase by card and digital wallet.
The Pennies integration is in use with 14 of Worldpay’s largest merchants across the UK.
Pete Wickes, EMEA General Manager, Worldpay Merchant Solutions, FIS sayss: “Merchants across the UK are taking advantage of our partnership with Pennies to help support their communities and bolster their corporate responsibility initiatives.”
“Our long-standing partnership with Pennies has helped to deliver a flexible micro-donation product, which has seamlessly fitted into the way consumers pay. Our shared vision of using tech for good has helped support charitable endeavours across the country, and beyond.”
Alison Hutchinson, CEO at Pennies, says: “Pennies is delighted to be celebrating this milestone with Worldpay. Our partnership has enabled merchants to raise millions of micro-donations for many fantastic charities.”
“It’s been so heartening to see this simple and affordable way to give become the norm for consumers, especially in the challenging environment. We look forward to continuing our partnership and continuing to drive positive change.”
2023 RTIH Innovation Awards
Worldpay from FIS, along with Freedompay, sponsored the payments category at the 2023 RTIH Innovation Awards.
MishiPay emerged victorious here.
UK retailers needed better in-store payment systems, as 88% of transactions were non-cash across the MishiPay network. Lacking insights on customer behaviour and high terminal costs (£300 each) were major issues.
MishiPay's solution was deployed in over 70 stores, integrating embedded payments with existing systems. This included upgrades for Scan & Go, Kiosk, RFID, Cash Desk, and mPOS to accept Softpos payments, enabling card tapping directly on screens.
Additionally, it provided advanced analytics via a global payment token, giving retailers valuable data on customer spending patterns and potential lifetime value.
Our 2023 winners were revealed at a fantastic awards ceremony, which took place at the Barbican Centre in central London.
The event was held on Wednesday, 29th November, maintaining its popular evening format, with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a Christmas themed three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room.
