CitySprint recruits 300 new couriers as same day delivery specialist targets growth in retail sector

Same day distribution company, CitySprint, is looking for 300 additional couriers across the UK, with the business focussing primarily on those with small and large vans as well as zero emission vehicles in larger areas.

This comes as the firm reports significant uplifts in key logistics sectors.

The new couriers will be added to the pool of over 2,500 vans, bikes and cars. They will provide support across all areas of the business, with a focus on supporting growth in retail sectors.

The couriers are required across the UK, with a particular need in the following cities:

  • Oxford

  • Cardiff

  • Bristol

  • Reading

  • Norwich

  • Warwick

  • Guildford

  • Glasgow

Mark Footman, Chief Operating Officer at CitySprint, comments: “It’s been another fruitful year for CitySprint, as the business has seen substantial growth in several key sectors. From winning an array of new clients to the Group acquiring London-based same day courier company, Absolutely.”

“Despite a commendable 3.4 million deliveries in the past year, we want to strengthen our fleet further to ensure we can continue providing the best possible service over the busy summer months.”

“We’re excited to welcome new suppliers onboard, to help us deliver on these promises and stay ahead of our competitors, as the business grows.”

Ercan Bennett, a CitySprint courier, says: “I initially joined CitySprint as a courier off the back of a recommendation from a friend – fast forward seven years and I haven’t looked back since! It’s been great meeting new people and experiencing different situations each day.”

“I love the freedom of being a self-employed courier as well as the flexibility and pay schedule, which allows me to balance my work with my personal responsibilities. If you’re looking for job satisfaction and are someone who enjoys being on the go and meeting lots of new interesting people, then it’s the perfect job for you.”

In addition, CitySprint is looking to employ drivers for its electric vehicles as it expands its overall electric vehicle fleet to over 200 by the end of 2023.
