Retail technology big hitter Aptos appoints Chief Information Officer and Global General Manager

Aptos reports that Jeremy Grunzweig has been promoted to General Manager of its global business unit.

In this expanded role, Grunzweig will oversee the unit’s P&L globally as well as functional areas including sales, product, support and services. He will continue to report to Aptos Group CEO Pete Sinisgalli.

Prior to his promotion, Grunzweig served as a regional GM at Aptos after he joined the company in 2021.

Following Aptos’ spinoff as an independent company in 2015, the organisation has grown into three business units: Aptos, LS Retail and Revionics. With Scott Zucker serving as GM of Revionics since 2021 and Kristjan Johannsson being appointed GM of LS Retail last month, the time was right for Aptos to have a GM of its own.

“Under Jeremy’s leadership, the Aptos business unit will remain laser focused on our most pressing objectives: customer and colleague satisfaction, innovative unified commerce solutions, and capitalising on the opportunities in front of us,” says Sinisgalli.

“Jeremy has done an outstanding job of improving organisational performance. Add to that his humility, customer first mindset and deep expertise in retail software, and we couldn’t ask for a better individual to lead this business unit forward.”

“At the end of the day, it’s about making sure that we deliver value to our customers better than we did the day before and cultivate a workplace culture that allows our employees to grow and develop,” Grunzweig says.

“If we continuously focus on these areas, Aptos will meet all its business goals. I’m proud to lead the Aptos business unit into a very bright future.”

Jason James

Aptos also recently welcomed a new executive — Jason James — to its ranks. Serving as CIO, James brings with him over two decades of experience in cloud operations, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and digital transformation.

“Throughout his career, Jason has helped companies leverage technology to accelerate growth and improve profitability and business alignment,” Sinisgalli says. “I am confident he’ll do the same at Aptos. We’re glad to welcome him to the team.”

James has been CIO at several software and data analytics organisations within the healthcare sector. Earlier in his career, he held executive level IT roles at the software company Servigistics (now PTC), the data intelligence firm PRGX and internet service provider EarthLink.

“Aptos’ investments in digital transformation and next-generation capabilities represent a competitive advantage for both the company and its customers,” James says.

“Aptos also understands that the role of a CIO today is just as much about simplifying complexity and aligning a company with a shared vision as it is about the technology itself.”

“I’m excited to help guide Aptos’ journey as we continue to scale our cloud operations and implement the right technologies that provide the best experience to our customers and colleagues.”
