GAIL's Bakery rolls out Cradlepoint 5G connectivity to sites throughout the UK following test period

Cradlepoint reports that GAIL's Bakery will be using its 5G connectivity in stores to support IoT devices like smart ovens, fridges and cookers.

The latter recently announced the opening of its 100th bakery, along with locations around Manchester.

Needing a reliable solution to provide a flexible deployment of primary and secondary 5G connectivity GAIL's engaged KFP, its IT solution provider.

Looking at all options available, the pair chose Cradlepoint E3000-5GB routers to roll-out a trial, with routers deployed at ten sites. Following the test period, GAIL's is set to install Cradlepoint's routers at a further 80 sites over the coming year.

With Cradlepoint's cloud-based NetCloud platform, GAIL's Bakery says that it has been able to gain more insight into its network than ever before.

Through a single cloud-based management platform, IT engineers can monitor data usage and address problems remotely, meaning they do not need to spend time travelling to stores to fix problems.

This remote access reduces downtime for the business and also makes the routers quick and easy to deploy, with staff only needing to plug in routers to create a high-speed 5G network.

George Norman, Regional Sales Manager at Cradlepoint, says: "Through our E3000-5GB router, Cradlepoint has been able to completely transform how GAIL's operates, reducing costs and downtime for the bakery chain.”

“As retailers everywhere struggle with economic pressures, it is vital that they build strong network foundations that can enable them to be more flexible and creative in the future. This is what we have achieved for GAIL's.”

“They can now continue to innovate, safe in the knowledge that their high speed 5G network will continue to support new applications as well as existing ones."
