Barron McCann and Milly Green team up to distribute 1,600 fully recyclable bamboo cups to Derby charities
2023 RTIH Innovation Awards winner Barron McCann has helped spread the message about saving the planet by handing out 1,600 bamboo fibre cups to local charities and organisations - with help from British homeware company Milly Green.
Derby-based Barron McCann, which provides IT services to customers throughout the UK and Europe, handed out the cups created by Milly Green to YMCA Derbyshire, Treetops Hospice, Derby County Community Trust, Derby Women’s Centre and Bridge The Gap C.I.C.
Each mug is made from 100% bamboo and is fully recyclable.
Lucy Laughton, Barron McCann’s Business Support and Social Values Co-ordinator, says: “We were lucky to receive this kind donation from our friends at Milly Green and chose local charities and organisations who we felt were deserving of the mugs.”
“The mugs are made from recycled, reusable resources – even the lid is bamboo, so there is no plastic after taste. We all know the benefits of a cuppa and a chat, and I hope that the charities will be able to enjoy drinking from the Milly Green mugs.”
Paul Taylor is YMCA Derbyshire’s Community Relationship Co-Ordinator.
He says: “We are extremely grateful to Barron McCann for this kind donation. We will be able to use the mugs to bring a smile to participants of the various projects we run here at the YMCA.”
“Our Health & Wellbeing team will be able to use the mugs for their sessions and I know that they will be most welcome down at our Wilmorton Community Gardens.”
2023 RTIH Innovation Awards
Barron McCann was highly commended at the 2023 RTIH Innovation Awards for its work with Pets at Home.
It has been supporting the retailer with the installation of technology solutions across the UK, to help store workers provide a practical and unique experience for pet owners.
The company replaced more than 2,000 legacy chip and PIN terminals at 456 sites during a 14-week period to streamline the customer experience, making it more efficient.
Our 2023 winners were revealed at a fantastic awards ceremony, which took place at the Barbican Centre in central London.
The event was held on Wednesday, 29th November, maintaining its popular evening format, with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a Christmas themed three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room.
