Grocery retail technology firm StrongPoint announces Pål Wibe as newest member of its board of directors

Grocery retail technology provider, StrongPoint, reports that Pål Wibe has joined the board as a Non-Executive Director.

Wibe has over 25 years’ experience as a CEO, senior executive and board member in the retail sector.

His career includes roles at the grocery retailer Rimi (later ICA Norway), the discount store chain Europris, and he was a long-standing board member of Norway’s first online only grocery retailer, Oda.

He has served as CEO of the retailers Nille and XXL and began his career at the management consultancy McKinsey.

“I am grateful for the trust StrongPoint’s shareholders have placed in me by appointing me to the board. I strongly believe in the power of technology to enhance efficiency and streamline operations, particularly in the grocery sector.”

“With such a broad portfolio of business critical solutions, StrongPoint is an indispensable partner for grocery retailers,” says Wibe.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pål as the newest member of our board of directors,” says Jacob Tveraabak, CEO at StrongPoint.

“Well known as ‘Mr Retail’, Pål brings a wealth of experience and an extensive track record of strategic leadership within the retail technology sector. His insight will be invaluable as we explore new ways to serve our key customer segment, grocery retailers.”

SAINSBURY’S

Earlier this year, we reported that StrongPoint had been selected by Sainsbury’s to supply order picking technology for online grocery orders fulfilled manually in-store.

Sainsbury’s is the UK’s second largest grocery retailer, with Tesco holding the top spot, and has over 1,400 supermarkets and convenience stores across the country, employing more than 152,000 people.

“StrongPoint is focused on serving the unique needs of grocery retailers and providing the very best e-commerce technologies. Our grocery e-commerce order picking solution is truly world class,” said Tveraabak.

“The fact that we now serve the UK’s second largest grocery retailer is a perfect testament to the quality of our solution.”
