Alison Lyness departs Poshmark for Mastercard amid seismic shift in buying, selling, and interacting
Alison Lyness has joined Mastercard as Vice President, Agentic Strategic Business Development.
She wss previously at Poshmark, where she served as Head of Business Development.
In a LinkedIn post, she said: "We’re entering a seismic shift in how people and businesses buy, sell, and interact. Agentic commerce isn’t just another technology wave - it’s a redefinition of how choices get made, how value is created, and how we’ll experience everyday life.”
“But for this future to work, trust, safety, and interoperability must be foundational to every interaction. Mastercard’s commitment to responsible innovation, global network, and hard earned reputation for trust make it the place where this future can be built thoughtfully and at scale."
She added: "Stepping into this next chapter fills me with energy, but it also comes with real gratitude. My years at Poshmark shaped me in ways I’ll carry forward - building new initiatives from scratch, solving hard problems with scrappy teams, and learning what it means to serve a passionate community.”
“It’s not easy to leave a company that means a lot to me, especially at such an exciting moment in its journey. But the same Poshmark core values that drove my experience - “together we grow” - are reflected in the Mastercard Way, where “we grow together” is more than a tagline. I’m proud to have grown alongside so many talented colleagues and even prouder to carry those lessons into this next chapter."
"Thank you to the many who have supported me. I’m humbled, energised, and ready to help build the next era of commerce - one that is more intelligent, more transparent, and delivers greater value to us all."
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
Payments was a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
We received a record number of entries and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.
For a full rundown of all of the shortlisted entries, click here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
