Wing and Walmart are launching on demand drone delivery in Metro Atlanta in the USA.

Beginning 3rd December, the service will be available from six Walmart stores across Metro Atlanta.

  • Walmart Supercenter #2475, 1436 Dogwood Dr SE, Conyers, GA 30013

  • Walmart Supercenter #3403, 3615 Charles Hardy Pkwy, Dallas, GA 30157

  • Walmart Supercenter #3201, 135 Willow Ln, McDonough, GA 30253

  • Walmart Supercenter #5252, 4221 Atlanta Hwy, Loganville, GA 30052

Walmart products eligible for drone delivery include grocery items, last minute gifts, household goods and over the counter medicine.

“Atlanta is a powerhouse in aviation, and we’re bringing the same spirit of speed and efficiency to thousands of Walmart customers across the Metro just in time for the busiest season of the year,” says Heather Rivera, Chief Business Officer at Wing.

“This launch is a critical next step in our significant expansion, turning drone delivery from novelty to norm as residents make drone delivery part of their everyday shopping.”

Milestone as Wing and Walmart launch rapid delivery via drones service across Metro Atlanta

The Metro Atlanta launch is pitched as an important milestone, representing, as it does, the first new major metro in Wing’s drone delivery expansion with Walmart. This expansion will include five new metros and serve 100 additional Walmart stores across the US by 2026.

It will build upon the pair’s progress in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex. In DFW today, Wing delivers thousands of orders to Walmart customers' homes weekly, and plans for growth are afoot.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Autonomous delivery was a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

VoCoVo, Everseen, Sensei, Gander, Iceland, Olio, Trust Retail, East of England Co-op, Lekkerland SE, Poq, Mamas & Papas, Varner, Sitoo, and Zebra Technologies were among our winners this year.

We received a record number of entries and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
