EE and Nintendo mark National Mario Day with Mushroom Kingdom takeover event at Westfield White City

EE is teaming up with Nintendo to bring the Mushroom Kingdom to Westfield White City for an exclusive three-day celebration from Saturday 8th March to Monday 10th March, in honour of National Mario Day. 

Over the three days, Mario and Luigi will be on hand to take photos with shoppers, while visitors will also have the chance to play a range of games on Nintendo Switches and in a Mario themed go kart, situated within EE's Gaming Zone. Those who can’t make it to the EE Studio can also experience gaming on a Nintendo Switch in one of 280 EE stores across the country.  

People purchasing any Nintendo product, including Nintendo Switch and all Nintendo games and accessories, via the EE Studio or the EE website between 7th – 31st March, will be automatically entered into a prize draw for a family of four to win: 

• A seven-night stay at Universal Terra Luna Resort 

• Universal Orlando 3-Park Explorer passes plus 1-Day Universal Epic Universe tickets (for admission to Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Volcano Bay, and the new Universal Epic Universe theme park featuring Super Nintendo World, opening 22nd May) 

• Round trip flights from the UK to Orlando 

• Ground transportation to and from the airport and hotel in Orlando 

Existing pay monthly mobile customers can also enter the competition in any EE store nationwide, as well as have the option to benefit from a Super Mario Wonder bundle offer which runs until 31st March. The offer features an OLED Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Bros. Wonder game and 24 months Nintendo Switch Online subscription - for £15 per month for 24 months with a one off £20 upfront payment, providing a saving of over £140 over the life of the plan. The offer is available in the EE studio store and via the EE website.

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Physical stores will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards. which will open for entries in March, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
