Ocado taps Oasis comeback as it takes to TikTok and launches limited edition Deliver Forever vans

Online groceries giant Ocado is tapping into the hype surrounding the Oasis Live 25 reunion tour, which kicked off last week.

It has launched limited edition delivery vans and also taken to TikTok and the streets of Manchester to see if Oasis fans really know their stuff.

In a LinkedIn post, Andrew Hendry, Social Media Lead at Ocado, said: “Alright Rkid? Keep an eye out for Ocado’s limited edition ‘Deliver Forever’ vans, now on the roads in the Manchester area.”

“We also took to the streets to find out if Oasis fans know their Champagne Supernova from their Masterflan. New platform

Last month, we reported that Ocado was in the process of emailing its customers, informing them of a switch to a new website and app.

The pureplay has been running two sites and apps concurrently and is moving shoppers on to a new platform in stages.

RTIH Editor, Scott Thompson, a regular Ocado customer, received an email from Ocado, stating: “Big news! On Tuesday 10th June, we are launching our new website and app for your area (South East London). We’ve been getting everything ready behind the scenes, but it’s almost time for the best bit - for you to see it in action.”

“You’ll find some great new additions, plus everything you already love about shopping with us. As soon as the update is live we’ll also send you a handy guide to help you explore - just in case you need it.”

It added: “The key bits to remember: We'll be starting the update next Monday evening, 9th June, so you’ll be unable to log on overnight. Make sure you check out any orders by 11 pm on Monday 9th June. Please make sure that all your payment methods are up to date to avoid any hiccups. We'll email you again as soon as everything's updated, including more info on what’s changed and the new app update, so stay tuned.”

2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS

Grocery delivery will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”

“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
