Michael Schuh targets meaningful, scalable growth in retail media with return to dunnhumby
Michael Schuh has joined dunnhumby for a second time, as Global Head of dunnhumby Media.
He was previously at retail data science, insights and media company 84.51°, where he held the role of VP, Product - Stores Assortment & Space.
Prior to that he was Business Analyst/Product Manager at dunnhumby.
In a LinkedIn post, he said: "As the leader in customer data science across the world, dunnhumby is incredibly well positioned to help retailers, brands, agencies, and partners navigate the complex world of retail media and scale their impact in a dynamic marketplace where customer led propositions are increasingly critical to success."

In his role, he will be responsible for leading impactful media propositions across NAM, LATAM, EMEA (non-UK), and APAC. "It's been a fast first few weeks that have only amplified my excitement to work alongside an impressive team that is already hard at work driving tangible value in the media space, with strategic consulting, thoughtful capabilities, and impactful partnerships," he said.
"Meaningful, scalable growth in retail media comes from deep expertise in media and retail and I'm grateful to the dunnhumby leadership team for their confidence in me to lead the company in this important sector."
"Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank so many colleagues, mentors, partners, and friends who've been a huge part of the last decade. I'm so grateful for every moment, lesson, triumph, failure, and laugh along the way. You've made me better - hope I've done a little of the same - and I will forever be an advocate for you. I'm certain our paths will continue to intersect in this exciting (and small) world of retail media."
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
Retail media will be a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards, which are now open for entries, celebrate global tech innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our 2024 hall of fame entrants were revealed during an event which took place at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place HQ in Central London on 21st November, and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by comedian Lucy Porter.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been. The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point where we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
He added: “Congratulations to all of our finalists. Many submissions did not make it through to the final stage, and getting to this point is no mean feat. Checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next generation loyalty offerings, inclusive retail, green technology. We’ve got all the cool stuff covered this evening.”
“But just importantly we’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations - resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
Congratulations to our 2024 winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Lucy Porter, and all those who attended November's gathering.
