Mario Bencivinni bags new role at Nestlé as it ramps up focus on Gen AI and agentic AI innovation

Mario Bencivinni has been appointed as Global E-commerce Innovation and AI Lead by Nestlé.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: “Grateful to be part of a company like that keeps looking ahead and truly believes in the next wave of innovation driven by Gen AI and agentic AI, and that has appointed me to a newly created role at group level. I’ll contribute to shaping the agentic roadmap for sales and work with markets across the board to build, deploy and embed Gen AI programmes at scale."

"What started months ago with a few selected pilots has grown into something much bigger. We’re entering a phase where experimentation is no longer enough. Scale, tangible impact and change management are now the real challenges, with people at the centre of this transformation, even more than technology itself. The scale of change ahead is significant."

He concluded: "I’ll continue working with markets and our IT colleagues to transform how we engage with shoppers, collaborate with customers, and support our sales teams in their daily work. Proud to contribute to this new chapter, with curiosity, humility and a lot of energy for what’s next."

RTIH AI in Retail Awards

RTIH proudly presents the first edition of its AI in Retail Awards, sponsored by VenHub Global, 3D Cloud and EdTech Innovation Hub.

Check out our finalists here.

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2026 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2026 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Thursday, 29th January. This will kick off with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room
