Retail comms specialist VoCoVo launches new accessibility and comfort features for S5 Headset
VoCoVo has announced the launch of its audio accessibility toolkit and new headset accessories, with a view to bringing inclusive audio solutions and personalised customisation to retail environments. The company says it is offering multiple user led communication solutions to connect its hardware with personal hearing technology.
This is alongside a collection of ergonomic and adaptive accessories that enable teams to personalise their headset for maximum comfort and usability. The solutions have been designed to create a more inclusive working environment while supporting colleague morale.
The Audio Accessibility Toolkit, designed to support retail colleagues with hearing impairments, includes direct integration between the VoCoVo Series 5 (S5) Headset and telecoil enabled hearing devices, requiring no additional hardware installation.
The toolkit also features an ear cushion for behind the ear hearing aids, which funnels sound directly from the S5 Headset into the hearing device, and a handset, offering Bluetooth connectivity for additional flexibility via loudspeaker, earpieces and push to talk communication. Hearing impaired colleagues will be able to process speech more effectively in busy retail spaces with fast changing background noise and during long shifts.
The new headset accessories range includes three modular, quick attach accessories that allow teams to adapt their headset for personalised comfort, uninterrupted focus and inclusive communication. These include a framework cushion for optional sound awareness and secure fit, an anchor cushion for targeted micro-cushioning around the ear area and a neckband cushion for enhanced tactile comfort. A smaller neckband is also available.
Colleagues can make adjustments to suit their individual preferences, hairstyles, skin sensitivities and physical profiles. The hardware is made from biocompatible, skin friendly materials such as soft touch open cell foam, and enables instant pressure relief during long and active shifts.
Beth Worrall, CEO at VoCoVo, says: “Connection is an important part of creating an inclusive retail environment. Every colleague should be able to communicate with their team, access information and feel involved in what is happening around them. We know our customers have retail teams with diverse needs and preferences, and the technology they use needs to reflect that. When a headset is comfortable and meets someone's accessibility needs, colleagues are far more likely to wear it and use it fully, that's what drives adoption on the shop floor. Making everyday tools more adaptable and accessible can help more people stay connected and focused on doing their best work.”
