Tenth time at Retail Technology Show for London bound marketing tech and digital signage firm Scala

Marketing technology and digital signage company, Scala, is bringing its solutions to Retail Technology Show at Excel London on 22nd and 23rd April.

This appearance will be the tenth time that the firm, now in its 40th year, has appeared at the event, and you will find them on booth U10.

“This year the Scala EMEA team has demonstrated their expertise and skill as full service digital communication providers. We have deployed some truly stunning retail, hospitality and communications solutions with work that has been recognised and celebrated across Europe,” says Harry Horn, General Manager of Scala EMEA.

“We are taking on new clients and projects as well as working with existing partners to expand some of our most sensational display solutions to more locations. It is great to be returning to Retail Technology Show to show off what we have been working on and share the exciting projects that we have coming up.”

In February, Scala and Repsol won the Retail Marketing & Messaging Award at the Digital Signage Awards 2026 for a project in which hundreds of displays across Repsol service stations in Spain and Portugal are connected to deliver a scalable retail marketing and messaging platform. Led by the Spanish Scala team in Madrid, the Repsol project saw local sales, design and professional services supported by Scala teams based in the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom.

Other recent highlights include an in-store digital communications installation across 345 locations for one of the Netherlands’ largest healthcare providers, BENU Apotheek, and the launch of the scalable self-service hospitality platform, Quintet. Quintet will be on display at Retail Technology Show.

Additionally, Scala last week announced a release of its core digital signage platform, Scala Enterprise version 13.60. This update focuses on user experience and efficiency, with highlights including player visibility, licensing improvements, security, and overall system performance. Notable in the release is Windows support to the latest release, Windows 11 version 26H1 for all Scala platforms, with the aim of providing greater security and faster processing power.

Visitors to booth U10 will be able to discuss this latest software release as well as experience Scala solutions, including:

  • Lift and Learn solutions: Encourage product discovery, comparison and conversion with a digital solution that invites attention and gains shopper insights.

  • Guided Selling solutions: Increase product consideration, eliminate inefficiencies and gather customer triggers with this scalable touchscreen solution.

  • Interactive and triggered display solutions: Attract attention to encourage sales and reinforce customer decision-making across retail types.

  • Digital Display technology: A variety of screen formats and sizes suitable for retail as well as hospitality, medical centres, transport hubs, cultural centres and more.

  • Scala Quintet: Display, menu boards, ordering kiosks, kitchen tracking and order pick up technology to create efficiencies, boost order size and reduce wait times.

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

Digital signage will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
