Snappy Shopper targets last mile delivery challenges as it connects with UK electric bikes specialist Eskuta

Snappy Shopper has announced a new partnership with UK electric delivery bike manufacturer Eskuta that aims to provide convenience retailers with a cost-effective solution for last mile delivery.

The tie up will see Eskuta become a preferred electric delivery bike partner for retailers using the Snappy Shopper platform. Eskuta designs and assembles its electric vehicles in Warwickshire and supplies delivery fleets for brands including Just Eat, Domino’s Pizza, Papa John’s as well as symbol group retailers such as Premier and Budgens.

Under the partnership, Snappy Shopper retailers will be able to access dedicated Eskuta leasing packages with weekly payments of £32.50 per week, with servicing and maintenance included.

21 Snappy Shopper retailers across the UK, including locations in Peterborough, Grantham, Cambridge and Sheffield, are using Eskuta vehicles as part of their delivery operations.

Rich Wetton, Marketing Director at Snappy Shopper, says: Partnering with Eskuta gives our retailers a practical, low cost way to scale delivery. These bikes are purpose-built for local orders and, importantly, allow stores to build delivery teams from within their communities - meaning customers receive orders from people they know and trust.”

Ian O’Connor, Managing Director at Eskuta, says: “We're focused on making last mile delivery more efficient, accessible and cost-effective for retailers. Partnering with Snappy Shopper allows us to bring our electric delivery solutions to a growing network of convenience stores, helping them reduce operating costs while maintaining fast, reliable service for their customers. We're excited to support retailers in scaling their delivery offering with a sustainable, future-ready solution."

Sachin Patel, owner of Nisa Local Marsh Farm and a Snappy Shopper retailer using Eskuta bikes, says: The bike has been a great addition to our delivery operation - it’s very cost-effective, easy to charge, and our drivers don’t need a licence, so it’s simple to get them on the road with just a helmet.”

“We’ve found it much easier for local deliveries too. Not having to navigate a car through smaller roads means drivers can take shortcuts and get orders there so much faster. The branding has also been a big benefit - we’ve added our own logo to the bike, and it’s becoming a real talking point in the community.”

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

Last mile delivery will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
