Pennies marks ten-year tie up with Retail Technology Show as Gold Charity Partner for 2026
Pennies, a micro-donations specialist, will return as the official Gold Charity Partner for Retail Technology Show 2026 on 22nd-23rd April at ExCeL London, marking ten years of their partnership.
Attendees can visit Pennies at stand Z55 across both days. It will also take part in a panel discussion on 22nd April at 13:55 on the Spark Stage, ‘Small Change, Big Loyalty: How Digital Micro-Donations Can Power Better Customer Engagement’, featuring leaders from Mamas & Papas, Debenhams Group and RedCat Hospitality.
Over the course of its partnership with Retail Technology Show, Pennies has enabled more than 275 million micro-donations, raising over £65 million for charities and supporting more than 980 charitable organisations. This contributes to more than £78 million raised by Pennies overall since launch in 2010.
During the two days of Retail Technology Show, it expects to see around 345,000 micro-donations made through its network of retail and hospitality partners across the UK, Ireland and beyond, raising over £85,000 for charity.
Since first attending in 2017, Pennies has grown from around 60 partners to more than 200 today, with Retail Technology Show playing a key role in that journey. Pennies will be joined by more than 15 of its technology partners exhibiting at this year’s show.
Alison Hutchinson, CEO of Pennies, says: “Retail Technology Show continues to play an important role in championing the micro-donation movement. As Pennies marks 15 years, it’s incredibly meaningful to reflect on the strength of partnerships like this one.”
“Over the past decade, the show has connected us with forward-thinking retailers, hospitality brands, and the technology and payments partners who help us to make digital giving possible. Together, we’re proving that small, everyday donations can deliver significant, lasting impact for charities across the UK, Ireland and beyond.”
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Payments will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
