Frank Sluis steps into CFO position at sportswear brand On after ending almost five year run at Ahold Delhaize
Earlier this year, On announced that Frank Sluis was set to join the company as Chief Financial Officer.
Most recently, he served as CFO for Europe & Indonesia at Ahold Delhaize, a position he held since 2021. And he has now officially started his new job.
In a LinkedIn post, Sluis said: “I stepped into my first pair of On shoes almost ten years ago. Last week, I stepped into my role as CFO. The technology and design may be different now, but after spending my first days in the office, it is clear the vision, purpose and energy of the team is as strong as it was when that first pair of shoes was made.”
He added: “I’m honoured to join at an incredibly exciting time for the business: in Q1 alone, we passed the threshold of 800m CHF revenue for the first time ever, with a record gross profit margin of 64.2% - up 430 basis points year-over-year. Following this strong quarter, we reinforced our 23% constant currency net sales growth target for the year and raised our profitability outlook across both Adj. EBITDA (19.5% - 20.0%) and gross profit margin (64.5%).”
“On’s reach continues to grow, and so does our potential to realise our vision: from inspiring more and more people to move, to fueling some of the greatest athletes of our time and setting the pace in innovation and sustainability. It is one of those unique moments in life where all of your passions come together in one opportunity, and I couldn’t be more grateful. As I start this new journey, I also want to thank my colleagues at Ahold Delhaize. I’m proud of the extraordinary results we delivered, and - as important - the fun we had along the way.”
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Sustainability will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
