Walmart’s Justin Breton picked for induction into American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement

Congratulations to Justin Breton, Head of Partnerships, Content, & Emerging Experiences at Walmart and a member of the RTIH Top 100 Retail Technology Influencers List, who has been selected for induction into the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement. In a LinkedIn post, he said: “I’m obviously honoured and grateful for the recognition but also incredibly humbled. They say every now and then something happens that makes you look back at how far you've come. This is one of those moments for me.”

He added: “From publishing to technology to retail, I've been fortunate to spend my career working with incredibly talented teams, partners, and mentors who have challenged me to think bigger and build work that people genuinely want to engage with. Whether it's helping pioneer new forms of commerce, experimenting with emerging platforms, or finding new ways to connect brands with culture, I've always believed the best marketing creates participation, not interruption. And this recognition proves I’ve done something right.”

“For those unfamiliar with the AAF, their Hall of Achievement recognises advertising and marketing leaders under 40 who have made outstanding contributions to the industry, not just through business results, but through innovation, leadership, and service to the profession. They induct a new class each year. Looking at the list of past inductees, it's a recognition that has celebrated many of the people who have helped shape modern advertising. To now be included among them is something I don't take lightly. Thank you to the AAF for this incredible recognition and to everyone who has been part of my journey.”

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

AdTech and MarTech will be key focus areas at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
