Snappy Technologies unveils AI technology powered platform for retailers as company preps beta

AI

Snappy Technologies, part of Snappy Group, has unveiled Snappy AI, a new AI powered assistant designed to help retailers understand their business performance, identify opportunities for improvement and make more informed decisions.

This has been built specifically for Snappy Shopper retailers to help them save time and get more value from their store data. Its initial capabilities will include answering questions about sales performance, bestselling products and helping retailers identify trends and opportunities.

Retailers will be able to ask follow up questions and receive tailored, data-based suggestions and complete tasks that would have previously taken hours in a matter of seconds. Snappy AI can also complete operational tasks, including changing store opening hours and updating product prices.

Snappy Technologies unveils AI technology powered platform for retailers and preps beta

Alan Reid, Chief Technology Officer at Snappy Group, says: “Retailers need clear, useful information that helps them decide where to focus their time and attention. That’s what we’re building Snappy AI to provide. We already work closely with retailers and understand many of the everyday challenges they face. Snappy AI brings that knowledge together with our technology and store data to make insights easier to access and operational tasks quicker to complete.”

“This is an important next step for Snappy Technologies as a retail technology partner. Working closely with retailers during the beta will help us build a product around what they find most useful.”

The mobile optimised platform will be accessible through the existing Snappy Shopper retailer admin dashboard. The beta is expected to begin in October with up to ten retailers selected from a mix of stores to support testing. Participation in a beta will be free, with pricing for a wider roll-out still to be confirmed.

So hot right now

Snappy Shopper is included in RTIH’s first ever Retail Technology Hot 100 List. Launching in August, this sees us bringing you the hottest companies whose solutions and systems are helping drive the retail sector forward.

Our Founder and Editor, Scott Thompson, drew up a list of 150 companies that had consistently been on his radar over the past 12 months whilst bringing our community the latest retail tech news and views that matter. These companies operate across the omnichannel retail landscape (stores, online, mobile, supply chain, payments etc).

Our judging panel, including Vineta Bajaj, Group CFO, Holland & Barrett, Dan McGrath, JD Group Customer Operations, JD Sports, Dr. Astha Purohit, Director of Product Management, Customer Data and Identity, Walmart, and Paula Bobbett, Chief Data and Digital Officer, Boots, provided feedback on those who have the most innovative, forward thinking technology offerings and are also best addressing retailers' current challenges, painpoints, and opportunities.

The judges used the following framework when making their picks:

1. Retailer problem fit - how meaningful, strategic, and widely felt the retailer pain being addressed is.
2. Production traction in retail (2025–2026) - real named retailer deployments, pilots.
3. Innovation and defensibility - genuine technical novelty paired with a defensible competitive position.

And there was also a public vote, with thousands of members of our community of retail tech enthusiasts getting involved. Thanks to all those who took part! Based on the judging panel's feedback and the public vote, we then drew up our first ever RTIH Retail Technology Hot 100.

So, without further ado, here are the 100 hottest global retail technology ventures right now. Drum roll, please…
