Head of Logistics Nick Weekes talks supply chain progress as he gears up to end run at Vivobarefoot

Nick Weekes has announced his departure from Vivobarefoot where he spent the past four years, serving as Head of Logistics.

In a LinkedIn post, he said: "After nearly four years, I’m wrapping up my time at Vivobarefoot at the end of July, as the company embarks on its new operating structure."

"Working for a truly unique mission- driven company has certainly been a privilege. During my time, Vivo has doubled in size, and we were tasked to build the supply chain to manage that growth. We’ve opened a warehouse in Ohio, another in Duisburg, and have just finished relocated the Ohio warehouse into a higher capacity facility down the road. We’ve rebuilt the front end of our supply chain with guaranteed container availability and created a true OTIF service for our e-commerce, wholesale and distributor trade."

He added: “Amidst all the hard work, I have met some exceptional people inside and outside of Vivo. We laughed and danced, jogged through Washington, watched sunrises in Ohio and sunsets in LA. Columbus and Dusseldorf have felt like second and third homes! Above all, we’ve built partnerships together that go far beyond transactional relationships. We’ve trusted each other, achieved success and overcome challenges together."

"Whilst I consider where and who to partner with next, you can find me spending the summer with the family, walking the dogs or driving my car around the alps - with my golf clubs in the back and barefoot shoes on my feet! Please feel free to get in touch. Happy to discuss new opportunities, give advise and generally chew the cud over a cuppa…"

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

Supply chain technology will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
