Social shopping and wishlist platform GoWish lands €13.4 million investment at $200 million valuation

Social shopping platform and wishlist app GoWish, known as Ønskeskyen in its native Denmark, has secured a capital injection of €13.4 million from various new investors, including Weco owner Johan Wedell-Wedellsborgand and former EQT partner Mads Ditlevsen. The investment values GoWish in excess of $200 million and will be used to accelerate the company’s international growth, with a particular focus on the US, where GoWish has more than nine million registered users.

"We have proven that GoWish can grow far beyond Denmark, and the United States is our largest market today. We are also proud to have some of Denmark's most experienced investors behind our ambition: to build a Danish born company into a global leader in social shopping. This new capital will be used to invest even more aggressively in our international growth, particularly in the US, a key priority on our own wishlist,” says Mads Dahlerup, CEO and Co-founder at GoWish.

In January 2025, London-based private equity firm Capital D came in as a co-owner and acquired roughly one-third of the company. At the time, GoWish had around ten million registered users worldwide, including 3.7 million in the US. Today, that figure has grown to more than 18 million globally.

"GoWish is one of the most compelling growth stories to come out of Denmark in recent times. The company has built a category-leading platform whose business model is really beginning to show its potential within social shopping and commerce media. We see significant further runway," say Wedell-Wedellsborg and Ditlevsen.

"We are at one of the most exciting moments in the company's history. The foundation is in place: a global user base growing fast, a strong technological platform, and a business model pointing forward. With the new investors on board, we have both the capital and the ambition to build a global category winner - and we're only just getting started,” says Rich Waterworth, Chairman of the Board at GoWish.

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

Social shopping will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
