Six more retailers that are so innovative right now

These retailers are leading the way in providing technology that is one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. Decathlon

Decathlon is deploying MishiPay’s mobile self-checkout solution across its stores in the Netherlands, starting with Rotterdam Alexandrium and Eindhoven.

2. Walmart

Walmart has appointed Suresh Kumar, a former Amazon and Google executive, to a new Chief Technology Officer and Chief Development Officer role.

3. Alibaba Group

Cainiao Smart Logistics Network is looking to speed up the digitisation of China’s shipping industry and work with industry partners to create RMB 50 billion ($7.25 billion) in value for the industry over the next three years, Alibaba Group recently announced.

4. Microsoft

Microsoft’s first European store, set to open in the UK on 11th July, will include immersive video walls, a community theatre, workshops, training areas and an ‘Answer Desk for tech support. 

5. Amazon

Amazon is to open 10 pop-up shops in UK town centres, enabling people to buy from over 100 small businesses, selling everything from food and drink to electronics, beauty products and homewares. 

6. Carrefour

Carrefour has reported an increase in sales following implementation of blockchain technology to track meat, milk and fruit from farms to stores.
