Ideal Shopping Direct appoints Glen Richardson as CMO and CTO
Earlier this year, we reported that Glen Richardson had departed online marketplace venture Fruugo to take on the role of Sales and Marketing Director at Ideal Shopping Direct.
He has now been promoted to CMO and CTO. Ideal Shopping Direct is one of the UK’s largest multi-channel home shopping retailers. It sells to over 31 million UK customers through channels on Sky, Freeview, Virgin and late-night ITV, plus 35 million homes in America and on its own websites.
It recently announced that it expects to record a £5 million profit in its results for the financial year to December 2019, following a £32 million loss in the same period last year.
Over the past 12 months, the retailer has greenlit a technology investment of £4 million, the recruitment of new suppliers for its two main channels, a new partnership with ITV, growth of its American distribution channels and an overhaul of its main Ideal World brand.
