Dixons Carphone raids John Lewis Partnership for new Chief Commercial Officer

Ed Connolly is set to swap John Lewis Partnership for Dixons Carphone and take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer in May.

At the same time, Mark Allsop’s role as Chief Digital Officer will be expanded to Chief Operating Officer, bringing stores, contact centres and the online business together under his leadership.

Connolly, who is currently Strategy Director & Director of JLP Ventures at John Lewis Partnership, will replace Steve Ager who will leave the business in June to take up a new role. Alan Ritchie, Chief Operating Officer, has also decided to depart in June.

Alex Baldock, Dixons Carphone CEO, says: “Ed is a forward-thinking and innovative leader who is focused on building strong, customer-obsessed and highly commercial teams.”

He adds that bringing everything together under Allsop’s leadership will “deliver a seamlessly integrated store and digital experience.”

Connolly comments: “Dixons Carphone is a business I have admired for a long time and is undergoing one of the most exciting transformations in retail. Ensuring we have a world-class commercial function will be crucial to delivering our vision of helping everyone enjoy amazing technology and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
