Monzo adds support for Android Pay

Android Pay has arrived at Monzo as the UK digital-only challenger bank preps a full current account roll-out.

It's the first digital payments system the FinTech has added support for (it has not yet revealed when it will throw Apple Pay into the mix). Monzo has around 500,000 users; it’s looking to move them from its pre-paid card offering to the current account by the end of the year. Android Pay will only be available to current account holders.

Arch rival, Starling Bank, already supports both Apple and Android Pay. It also recently became the first UK bank to connect with Fitbit’s rival system, Fitbit Pay.
