MishiPay lands £1.65m for mobile self-checkout tech
London-based startup, MishiPay, has raised over £1.65 million in seed funding in a round led by Nauta Capital.
Inspired by co-founder Mustafa Khanwala’s own shopping experience, when in 2015 he had to queue for 20 minutes just to buy a soda, the company develops mobile self-checkout technology that allows people to scan the barcode of an item on their phone and pay via their device. The company is currently working with partners like Cisco, Avery Dennison, Nedap, Zebra and says that it is involved in Proof of Value projects with such European retailers as Media Markt Saturn.
