Jeff Bezos notches up another milestone

First Jeff Bezos became the richest man in the world and now he has been crowned the wealthiest person of all-time.

Shares in Amazon hit an all-time high on Monday, taking Bezos’ net worth to $105.1 billion, according to Bloomberg. That sees him breeze past the $100 billion that Microsoft boss Bill Gates amassed back in 1999.

Amazon, meanwhile, captured 89% of US online spending among leading retailers in the five-week period beginning on Thanksgiving, according to Earnest Research. Wal-Mart came in second with 4.4%.
