Zara tests out Click & Collect store

Zara has launched its first Click & Collect concept pop-up store in London’s Westfield Stratford. Measuring 2,152 square foot and featuring a dedicated space for collecting online purchases, while also stocking a selection of pieces from both menswear and womenswear, this will be open until May while the retailer’s flagship store in the centre is being refurbished to double in size.

Staff will be equipped with mobile devices to assist customers, who will receive orders within the same day if placed before 2pm, or the next day if placed in the afternoon. Mirrors will have embedded information screens to offer product recommendations. And shoppers can skip queues by paying via app. The Zara and Inditex Group apps both allow this, plus InWallet. A self-service checkout is also available.

Chairman and CEO at Inditex, Pablo Isla, labels the initiative, “another milestone in our strategy of integrating our stores with the online world, which represents an important part of our identity.”
