Caffè Nero mobile initiative pays off

Caffè Nero reports that its payment and loyalty app has gained more than 350,000 registered users since it was launched a year ago. The offering, developed in conjunction with Yoyo, has also taken 8% share of checkout and built up a 90-day retention rate.

643 Caffè Nero stores now use the app in the UK and Ireland. More than 3.6 million transactions have been processed and over 5.7 million loyalty stamps awarded to customers at the PoS. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reviews we’ve had from our customers. We’re trying to get closer to our customers and build better and longer-term relationships,” says James Flett, Partnerships Manager at Caffè Nero. “The only we can do that as a brand is if we can connect with the customer and recognise them at the PoS. Brands who don’t do that and continue to treat their customers anonymously will continue to fall behind.”
