Amazon expands Dash Replenishment in UK
Amazon UK has announced updates to its Dash Replenishment programme.
Part of the Dash Button device family, this enables connected devices to measure supply consumption through a variety of sensors, including voltage, pressure, volume and capacity. The measurement then signals an automatic reorder of supplies before customers run out.
Latest developments as follows:
- Dishwashers are now available from Bosch and Siemens which will automatically reorder dishwasher detergent. Beko, Candy and Hoover are currently developing dishwashers to automatically re-order dishwasher tablets and rinse aid.
- KYOCERA printers will automatically reorder ink and toner when running low
- Toshiba TV remote controls will be the first brand in the UK to offer automatic re-ordering of batteries.
- Candy, Haier, Hoover and Sharp are developing washing machines to help automatically re-order laundry detergent and fabric softener.
- illy is developing espresso and coffee machines to easily reorder capsules.
“With Dash Replenishment we’re working to make the process of shopping for everyday consumables completely disappear, because we’ve all felt the frustration of running out of something we frequently use,” says Eric Saarnio, Head of Amazon Devices EU. “Dash Replenishment allows manufacturers to add even more convenience to connected products, enabling a device to automatically reorder so a customer never has to worry about running out of what they need.”
“Based on our research, forgetting to restock laundry detergent and softeners causes frustration for our consumers,” comments Yannick Fierling, CEO, Haier Europe. “Now this problem is solved - thanks to the integration of Amazon Dash Replenishment in Haier connected washing machines our users can be certain to have the right supply of consumables fully automated.”
