The e-commerce giant currently has 16 branded Go stores. According to a report by CNBC, citing people familiar with the matter, it has been in talks to deploy the underlying tech in OTG’s CIBO Express stores at airports and Cineworld’s Regal cinemas. Another person said Amazon is targeting concession stands in baseball stadiums.
The idea is to start installing the technology in the first quarter of 2020 and have hundreds of stores up and running by the end of 2020. An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment on rumours or speculation.
