Rezolve announces Lotte Corporation tie-up
Rezolve recently announced an agreement with Samsung to make its technology available on the South Korean firm’s smartphones. And it has now secured another deal in the country, this time with retail giant Lotte Corporation.
Lotte will use the London-based mobile commerce venture’s technology in its supermarket app, allowing customers to make purchases by scanning promotional print leaflets with their smartphone.
“Rezolve provides a way for consumers to deepen their engagement with their favourite brands and with Lotte Corporation, being one of the world’s largest conglomerates spanning food and beverage to department stores to hotels and theme parks, the possibilities of what can be achieved through Rezolve and a smartphone are endless,” says Chief Executive and Founder Dan Wagner.
“Mobile devices have become the go-to method for people to explore and connect with brands and we are rapidly becoming the standard for the world’s leading companies.”
Justin King
Wagner, you might remember, once headed up another mobile retail outfit, Powa. This was initially pushed as one of the UK’s great tech hopes, but collapsed three years ago after burning through millions of pounds of investors’ money.
But that didn’t stop Justin King, former Sainsbury’s CEO, from taking an undisclosed stake in Rezolve and taking on the role of Senior International Advisor.
“I have been watching the development of Rezolve under the leadership of Dan for some time,” King said earlier this year. “He leads a team of impressive technology entrepreneurs and I believe that I will be able to add significant value at this pivotal moment in the future of payments and the role that Rezolve is taking in this change. Its mobile technology has the potential to be a game changer making it much easier for customers to interact, select and pay for goods and services.”
