Five retailers that are nailing the Christmas experience

RTIH brings you its fave festive initiatives. Take a bow One Stop, Tesco, Pret a Manger, Sainsbury’s and Notonthehighstreet.

1. One Stop

Savvy has created and executed an augmented reality game for convenience retailer One Stop.

Launched at the end of October, customers can download the Find Eddy the Elf app, visit a store and join the search to find the hidden One Stop ‘Helfers’. They can unlock tiered prizes and enter into prize draws.

2. Tesco

Tesco has turned its time travelling Christmas ad into a video game.

Delivery Dash involves fuelling up on festive goodies and competing against friends as players travel through Tesco’s 100 year history.

3. Pret a Manger

Pret a Manger has launched its online Christmas campaign in partnership with LiveArea.

Part of a wider digital transformation relationship, this includes Pret a Manger’s UK, US, France and Hong Kong websites and focuses upon the launch of its Christmas menu.

4. Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury's recently opened a Giving Store in London's Covent Garden.

This housed priority items as advised by local food bank partners - from non-perishable food and toiletries to toys – all of which were ready to be donated.

Customers were asked to pay a minimum £5 donation for a ticket to enter. All donation money, groceries and toys in the store went to North Paddington Food Bank.

5. Notonthehighstreet

Notonthehighstreet has launched an iOS app feature which uses machine learning and image recognition to allow customers to shop directly from its Christmas catalogue.
