Bossa Nova sets sights on UK following US Walmart deployment
Bossa Nova is looking to introduce its autonomous, shelf scanning robots into UK supermarkets, building on a debut with Walmart in the US. This follows the opening of its first European office last year in Sheffield.
The company didn’t name any UK retailers, but, given the Walmart connection, Asda would be an obvious candidate. Walmart has implemented the technology in 50 of its US stores and is lining up an additional 300 stores.
Red McKay, European Managing Director at Bossa Nova Europe, says: “We’re excited to introduce this technology to UK grocers, especially at a time when retailers are looking to deliver a seamless omnichannel shopping experience. Our technology has allowed retailers to improve product availability, keep up with demand and streamline stock management, saving time and money.”
