Modsy snags $37 million in VC funds

US startup Modsy has raised $37 million in a series C funding round led by TCV, with participation from Norwest Venture Partners, Advance Venture Partners, and Comcast Ventures. This follows a $23 million series B round in December 2017 and brings the company’s total raised to $71 million.

Modsy has developed 3D visualisation technology that helps consumers design and shop for their home. It will use the aforementioned cash to scale while investing in 3D automation, expanding its marketplace and “upleveling” its services.

Shanna Tellerman, Founder and CEO, says: “Modsy is the future of furniture shopping and we are thrilled to partner with such a forward-thinking and customer-centric firm like TCV to help us fulfil our vision. I founded Modsy on the premise that in the future we would all be shopping from a personalised catalogue-like experience within a virtual version of our real homes. This new round of funding will bring us even closer to this reality.”
