Five retailers/brands that are all about the blockchain right now

These retailers and brands are leading the way in the blockchain space.

1. Atlético de Madrid

Atlético de Madrid has become the latest football club to join the Chiliz blockchain-based fan engagement mobile app, Socios.com.

It lines up alongside the likes of West Ham United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus and is the first Spanish team on the platform.

2. Domino’s Pizza

Domino’s Pizza has launched a Euro 100,000 Bitcoin prize competition in France, to mark its 30th anniversary.

3. Watford FC

The Bitcoin symbol will this season appear on the shirt sleeve of Watford FC players, and the Premier League club will also accept the cryptocurrency for merchandise purchases.

4. Jacobs Douwe Egberts

Farmer Connect, a startup building farm-to-consumer traceability solutions based on the IBM Food Trust Platform, has partnered with the likes of Jacobs Douwe Egberts to apply blockchain technology to coffee supply chain tracking.

5. 7-Eleven

Investment app venture Abra is to sell cryptocurrency for cash at 6,000 retail outlets across the Philippines.

This is the result of a deal with local payments processor ECPay to access its network that includes all 7-Eleven stores in the country.
