iParcelBox flags up pass-the-parcel online delivery woes
37% of of Brits have been forced to deliver a neighbour’s unclaimed parcel to their door in the last three months, despite the recipient receiving a ‘sorry we missed you’ card with collection details, according to iParcelBox research involving 2,000 people.
A further 12% have even refused to take a parcel for a neighbour when the postman/delivery driver came calling. 52% admitted to being furious at receiving a ‘sorry we missed you’ card. An additional 42% said that shopping and parcel deliveries are often left in an inappropriate place and 18% stated that their orders had been ruined by poor weather conditions such as rain.
27% confessed to taking time off work to wait for deliveries. Meanwhile 13% have had something stolen because it was left outside their door whilst they were out. 3% also admitted to throwing a neighbour’s parcel over a fence, whilst another 3% had kept a neighbour’s items and not given them back.
