Five retailers/brands that are so innovative right now

These retailers and brands are leading the way in providing technology and experiences that are one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. Worcester Red Sox

US baseball team Worcester Red Sox is partnering with Standard Cognition to open what is pitched as the first autonomous checkout store in a pro sports and entertainment venue. 

2. Transport for London

Transport for London (TfL) has announced Sook as the winner of its first retail innovation competition, which it launched in May.  

3. Golden 1 Center

Golden 1 Center and Zippin have announced a checkout-free convenience store partnership. The store will be located at the southwest entrance of Golden 1 Center and will be open during Sacramento Kings home games and concerts at the arena.

4. Wakefern Food Corp.

Wakefern Food Corp. is expanding a pilot involving Focal Systems from four to 50 stores. This involves a shelf camera-based computer vision system that captures images of store shelves in order to calculate what is out of stock.

5. Klarna

Klarna is opening a three storey pop-up featuring such brands as Asos, Oliver Bonas, Topshop/ Topman, Missguided, My Protein and Schuh.

Following the PayTech venture’s Covent Garden pop-up in June, Klarna will now take up residence in Manchester’s city centre. The House of Klarna will kick off with a VIP launch party on 3rd October, before welcoming the public from 4th to 13th October.
