Manchester United taps buy now pay later space with Laybuy tie up
Laybuy has become Premier League club Manchester United’s official buy now, pay later provider in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
Fans will be able buy club merchandise in the Manchester United Megastore at Old Trafford stadium and spread their payments with weekly interest free instalments over six weeks, via the Laybuy app.
As part of the partnership, Laybuy will look to further integrate its offering across a number of the club’s other retail platforms in 2021.

Manchester United’s Director of Partnerships, Sean Jefferson, says: “We know fans are looking for a range of different payment options that best meet their specific needs.”
“That is why we are delighted to be partnering with Laybuy, a global leader in buy now, pay later technology, to provide fans access to a more convenient way of purchasing club merchandise and services.”
Hitting the UK
Last year, Laybuy launched in the UK in a partnership with Footasylum. The company started life in New Zealand and is majority owned by investment firm Pioneer Capital.
