OnBuy kickstarts 2021 with New Year's Day sales event
UK-based online marketplace OnBuy has announced a £50 million price crash event for New Year’s Day.
This will see seller fees reduced across all 17 categories of the venture’s product range, allowing every single one of the over 30 million items on OnBuy to be discounted.
Aside from the obvious, 2020 has provided us with a whole lot of craziness that we’ve almost forgotten. UFO videos? Yup. Murder hornets? Well, obviously. Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin? But of course.#OnBuy #NoMurderHornetsIn2021Please pic.twitter.com/1egxpYz2g3

Cas Paton, Founder and CEO, OnBuy, says: “The New Year is a time for us all to make bold plans for the year ahead, however many businesses are feeling uncertain due to the ongoing global health crisis.”
“Cutting our fees means that sellers stand to enjoy a risk free way of seeing an early boost to their sales for 2021, with the full support of our marketplace.”
He adds that consumers can also support independent businesses while they shop, with his company covering the cost of the discounts.
The price crash event comes as OnBuy gears up for a busy 2021. This will include opening an office in Manchester in the spring, and launching its platform into over 140 countries by year-end 2023.
