Five retail technology startups to watch in 2020
Covering such spaces as augmented reality, crypto and e-commerce, these companies should be on your radar this year.
1. Shoffr
Shoffr is an online to offline (O2O) commerce platform for retail brands.
It integrates with a company’s online channels such as website, social media, Facebook Messenger chatbot, WhatsApp chatbot, etc and tracks who is interested in what, where, and which retail store the customer ended up in.
The venture launched in 2017, got seed funded by Techstars in 2018 and was acquired by Affle in 2019.
2. mParticle
Customer data platform venture mParticle recently announced a $45 million Series D funding round led by Arrowroot Capital. This brought its total amount of capital raised to over $120 million and will be used to accelerate the growth of its platform.
3. London Dynamics

4. Aero Commerce
Former Visualsoft Directors Richard Bendelow and Matt Burton recently launched a new e-commerce platform, Aero.
Their company, Aero Commerce, has received over £1 million in funding from the likes of Maven Capital Partners. It has also made a number of key hires, including lead developer Tim Spratt, UX specialist Steven Roberts and corporate business development executive Robert Cooper.
5. PumaPay
Adult entertainment platform Pornhub has rolled out PumaPay recurring subscription crypto payments.
This enables its Pornhub Premium offering to accept the PMA cryptocurrency token. Customers can manage their monthly and one-time payments via the PumaPay Mobile Wallet app.
